Questions

1. What are some of the gated communities in the area and where can I find further info on them?

Two popular gated communities in the area are King's Grant and Gates Four.  For more information on these communities, please see the links below.

King's Grant

Gates Four

2. Who are the utility providers in the area? What's the average cost of utility in the area?

In Hope Mills, where I live, we pay about $150 per month through Progress Energy. Others use PWC and their cost obviously depends on the size of the house.

3. I was wondering if you provided any transition assistance to military's children, ages 5 and under?
4. Can you point out some neighborhoods for the single young professional crowd to live? Thanks!

We have several great communities.  Karen Lakes,Cliffdale Cott,Harbor Pointe, Kings Grant which are condos and townhouse communities that offer pools, clubhouses and golfing.  It would all depend on the price range you would like to be in.  I am a Realtor and I could assist you in finding a home.

A young professional would like the Lakeshore Neighborhood that consists of condos and luxury Town homes. The prices range from 140,000-210,000. This neighborhood is off of Cliffdale Rd. Please let me know if more specifics. Also, the up and coming neighborhood of South Point in Hope Mills NC centered around the brand new state of the art Millstone 14 Cinema and shoppettes. Also, downtown area is a great place though it is more expensive. And there are some great places off of Ramsey St. In fayetteville as well!!

9. I have 3 children, ages 14, 9 and 7. My biggest concern while we relocate is for them to be in a good environment. How can I find out what some of the better choices of neighborhoods/schools are for my children's safety, future friendships and overall well-being? I have seen a lot of information about test scores and schools achievement, but I am more concerned with behavior, character, and attitudes.

You will have to locate the school by their numbers then call and interview both the receptionist and the principal plus go visit them and ask for a tour.  You can also call the board of education and question them.

As far as selecting a good neighborhood, a lot will depend on the realtor selected.  There are a lot of good realtors that have taken extra classes to earn designations to become true professional of their profession. Once you have identified the house or area, visit it several times during the day and night plus on weekends.  Call the local law enforcement agency and ask them about the crime in the area.  Every subdivision is unique and you have to evaluate them just like you do schools.  But, your realtor can/should assist you with a lot of information about the neighborhoods and area.

10. Hi, my husband and I are moving to Fayeteville in less than a month. We are looking for a rental house in a nice area. Possible college area or older, nicer homes are a plus. Any suggestions?

Hello,

It really depends on what you are looking for. A realtor would really be helpful to you in showing you the area and giving you an idea of what it is you need.

Thanks!

11. My Grandson has recentely been stationed @ Ft Bragg and needs housing for he and his wife. Rent prefered, rent to own, or possibly buy. He said he would like something out the Gate on the American Freeway around 20mins.from base. Any advise you have would be helpful. His wife is in Ala. and waiting for him to call for her. I'm his Poppa, and trying to help him find a place. my E-mail is mry51@yahoo.com.

There are lots of properties that may meet those needs.  The grandson needs to contact a knowledgeable and trusted real estate consultant.  Someone  to evaluate your wants and needs to determine which is the best course of action for you.  To start with, how long will you be at Fort Bragg?  If less than 3 years, you do not need to buy unless you plan to convert the property to rental investment property when you PCS or leave the service and this area.

12. Are the Tree Top Apartments in Raeford a safe place for a single female to live alone?

Call the local sheriff department and ask them specific questions.  Overall crime stats can be found on the FBI website but for specific locations within a county, it is best to call the local sheriff department.

13. I am a certified nursing assistant trying to relocate to fayetteville nc. Are there jobs in this profession? Perhaps in nursing homes.
